Oh my. I was looking for a photo of another item I used to make and ran across this photo. This was my booth at the Purely Victorian Tea Festival in Monmouth, Oregon, Aug. 16, 1997. Booths were being judged and I won First Place! I still have the teapot and cup/saucer I won. The canopy frame was made out of pvc pipe, the top is a painter's tarp from Home Depot. Silver Lace Vine wrapped around the front uprights (I'm still trying to eliminate that hugely-invasive vine from my backyard!). I made copper olive oil lamps and geode aromatherapy diffusers, beeswax candles, kaleidoscopes (made of stained glass), vases and keyrings made from old silverware, handmade cone incense, and lots more. This was fun - such a beautiful festival. The following year, however, in order to attract more people, they had Civil War Reenactments - at a Purely Victorian Tea Festival! Like - really!!!??? Drinking tea and having guns shooting in the background. I didn't go back after that, but it sure was fun that first year. ♥
