Hoping some polymer clay people here can help me. I’ve got these adorable little musical instruments that I want to get a metallic sheen on them, but I’m not sure any straight clay colors will give the effect I’m looking for, even “metallic” ones. I’ve currently been coloring them after baking with a paint pen, but I’m wondering if there’s a better way that might be less time-consuming. Maybe mica powder before baking? I’m new to the world of clay jewelry so I’m open to suggestions! Pictures are examples of what I’m trying to accomplish. Last picture is a “bedazzled” variation that’s an experiment because its earring twin broke while I was handling it. 🤣 I’m kind of in love with it so I hope all the crystals survive the resin dip. I don’t have these in my shop yet, but I will once I work all the kinks out!
